I definitely agree with the previous post. Look for an example that was well cared for. Avoid the automatic, and buy a German-made model if you can find one. I've had a good bit of experience with this vintage of Volkswagen. In short, it seems that you can't go wrong with a German made model with a manual transmission. This basically means the GTI and maybe a few others here and there. Avoid the automatics as they usually tend to have major problems some...

Have you checked your heater control valve to make sure it is opening fully to allow coolant through the heater core?

TDI Fuel Filter Replacement

Hi all, I have a 2013 VW Passat TDI and I am looking to replace the fuel filter. Does anyone know if I have to do anything special to prime the filter after installation? All I had to do with my old vw diesels is fill up the filter with ATF or fuel. I'm not sure what to do with these new fangled mac...
