I have a wiperless Scirocco hatch in silver. I'm not certain of the paint code. It still has the foam spoiler and glass, and has a good seal. The paint on the corners is slightly banged up. Like previous posters have said, check the seal to you pollen filter housing, and also check your a/c drain. You'll find it on the passenger side firewall down low under the hood. Barring issues with the thermostat, and its three-piece plastic housing leaking, or the lower coolant pipe which would become brittle and crack over time, I don't think there were really any inherent issues with 12v AAA VR6 engines overheating.
