I am reading an error code 01738 pointing to a bad connection/faulty front airbag crash sensor on my car.
I cleared it, but it comes back in a few days. I will check the connector and also if it is covered under a recall.

Re: VW New Beetle Convertible Airbag code G283
Get access to the connector and then unplug and spray a contact cleaner/protector on it (or WD-40) and plug it in and unplug 3 times. Then spray it again and plug it back together and clear code. Of course, look into connector and use a mirror to view the sensor connector and make sure there is no damage or obvious corrosion build up first.

Access to that connector is a female dog. Its still intermittent so I will chase it in the spring. Code is consistent.

Reviewing records - I had my airbase sensors inspected on recall in 2012 - now they have failed. I wonder if I can go back and claim warranty on these now? Will advise.
